Two \tstudents from each grade (female\/male) would be 14, this could be \ttoo many so maybe two from year 6 \u2013 8 and two from 9 \u2013 12 giving \tus four students. Taping into student&#8217;s interests \u2013 what they use \toutside the classroom often works well within integration projects. \tAlso, knowing student interests can provide project material for \tclub\/after school type work. For example I had a group of 8<sup>th<\/sup> grade students interested in advertising at a New York City public \tschool. We integrated not only their interest in advertising by \thaving them hook up with one of the world&#8217;s top ad firms, <span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', serif;\">JWT \tAdvertising Company,<\/span><\/span> but we brought in \ttheir English and art classes and worked on video productions as \twell as web development, see <a href=\"http:\/\/neuage.us\/RGA\/week1.html\">http:\/\/neuage.us\/RGA\/week1.html<\/a>. \t Teachers know their curriculum and where they want to take it. My \tadd-in has a duel emphasis; collaboration outside the \tclassroom\/city\/province\/country and bringing in what \tenhances\/extends the curriculum. The basis of this is html. Students \tshould have a homepage which is their foundation \u2013 all else \tbranches out from this. From their home-base links go to every area \tof living\/learning. The homepage should be only on the student&#8217;s \tcomputer with an area on the school&#8217;s server. Privacy is paramount. \tI have been working with this for about ten-years with student&#8217;s \tcreating portfolios that extend throughout their school history. Oh \tdear television watching time \u2013 Narda wants to watch an episode of \t&#8216;Breaking Bad&#8217; and writing up a technology plan or having any \tthoughts other than &#8216;wow this is a crazy show&#8217; is not happening now.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Notes at start of 2011-2012 school year For Integration of Technology 6 \u2013 12.
